Attorney Ashley Davis with Penner Lowe Law Group, LLC was recently recognized by the Wichita Business Journal as a woman who leads in legal! We recently sat down to interview Ashley and learn more about her:
What has been your career path? Graduated from University of Kansas and then went to law school at the University of Washburn. After law school, I started my own law practice and did little bit of everything. Was in a very bad car accident, in the hospital and rehab and took months to recuperate. I decided I needed to work for a firm in case such a thing happened again. Got a job at a small firm and stayed for many years. In May 2020, I decided to change firms and changed to Penner Lowe Law Group, LLC. I mainly handle divorces, paternity actions, child custody and support matters, along with prenuptial agreements, grandparent visitation, child in need of care cases and adoptions.
Who are your mentors and how have they influenced your career?
Charlie Harris and T. Michael Wilson. They helped me become the lawyer I am today
Best advice for a woman wanting to enter your field? As a lawyer you can be adversarial in the Courtroom but should remain cordial and cooperative with your colleagues outside of the Courtroom, especially as you will most likely be working with the same attorneys in your field for years to come. Practicing law is rewarding as you assist your clients with their legal problems or issues.
What do you like most about your job?
I meet a lot of great people who are usually going through a very difficult time. I like being able to help them through the legal process and usually a very hard time in their lives. My job is interesting, and every case is uniquely different. I really enjoy working with the attorneys and staff at Penner Lowe Law Group, LLC.t your clients with their legal problems or issues.
